Aino

Another chapter in the Kalevala song cycle. This chapter tells the story of a young girl named Aino, who is forced to marry Vainamoinen, an old man. In desperation she drowns herself in the sea and haunts Vainamoinen as a trout.

Leaves and Blood

A short piece for mixed ensemble dedicated to late family friend, Timoteus Racz. An ostinato runs through the whole piece in the piano, connecting everything.

Lemminkainen

A chapter out of a longer song cycle in the works based on Finland’s national epic: The Kalevala. This chapter tells the story of Lemminkainen who was killed and brought back to life.

Tonight my Sleep Will be Lonely

An arrangement of a traditional Scottish tune for a concert pitch solo instrument (or English horn), guitar, and piano. If wanted, the soloist can play with guitar or piano accompaniments alone, though both together form the preferred sound.
